Hi guys just wanted to start this thread so that everyone can see each others pedalboard. So here is mine pretty simple just a Boss ME-50 & i am going 2...

Your Pedalboard!!!

Advantages :

Small
Light
Easy to store and carry around
No ones gonna steal it

Disadvantages :

If someone steps on it, they might damage a pedal.
You might look like a tool walking around with it.
If you do a gig in a school, the bullies might beat you up and take your lunch money ?

If I understand you correctly, the board would be cut to fit snugly in 2 dimensions. Would there not then be movement of the board in the case when you picked it up by the handle?

I don't think he'd have a problem. He could wedge it between his sami's and jiuce bottle ?

I think I have a plan.

Might need a bit of reinforcment, and it would definitely need a lot of foam in the bottom and the lid so that the board is held firmly and the pedals are shock-proofed.

As to looking like a tool, I'm a gen-Xer. That's our whole thing ?

An idea that I'll try soon, is to use an old army ammo case for a pedal board. The metal lid's inside will house the pedals (ok, there isn't place for that many pedals but it should take at least four or with luck, six small ones I reckon). The case's remaining interior space will be for cables, etc. The whole thing should be relatively light and easy to carry. Will build it sometime soon and post pics.

I cut a piece of 16mm Mdf exactly to the size of the inside of the case (which could exactly fit all my pedals, quite a coincidence), rounded the edges, sprayed it a nice black, fitted 2 handles on the side to lift the board out of the case, Velcro, cables... Worked well but now I have some new stuff so now I need something bigger... To build something like the Trailer Trash myself will not be TOO expensive, It's just the case that is still the issue, the warwick is super quality but pricey!! But I will save to buy it, will post pics though! Just tell me how!!

A question for you guys -

What are you willing to pay for a pedal case/board designed to your specs? Reason I ask is cos I'm in the process of building a few "standard" size board/case combo's for some GT8,POD xt units. I'll be able to make more if the demand is there. At the moment they're pretty simple designs but are well built and look swish 8)

Anyone interested?

Custom Board for stomp boxes? 80x60mm... Is that MDF? Its very neat and looks very durable... I would pay R900... Only because my dad has a Furniture/Woodworking factory and I can cut it myself!!

Medium Density Fibreboard, ie chipboard to superwood type stuff

Gotcha ta. Useful to know. My guitar instincts were inclining me towards Honduras Mahogany. Overkill though maybe ?

Funny story... I wanted to buy one then one of my friend's paents moved to Malawi and he found the case BRAND NEW in their garage, they didn't want it so my friend gave it to me! But I know Makro or Midas or Game or places like that have them at about R180. How many pedals do you want to fit? MDF a.k.a Superwood. When you router the edges it doesn't make that "chipped" look more a smooth like surfav=ce like the rest of the board!

Cool - shot man 8) Pretty much in the general ballpark I was thinking for price aswell. I still want to offer them at an affordable price. Wierdly enough I work for my dad in the boards industry so getting board etc and having it machined is also not a problem. The cases that I'm doing now are cheap ass plain chipboard with a thin mdf top and bottom. I'm looking into alternatives though. Thin plywood possibly - not sure yet.

I am from Pretoria... Where do you get those corner pieces and the handle though?? We have a CNC so it will be quite easy to make those! Where you from??

I'm down south in Cape Town. I got all the corners and handles etc. from a mate's dad when they emigrated to New Zealand. He couldn't sell it all quick enough so he just offloaded it all on me - nice 8). I think he got them from Bothners. I've got tons of them so I reckon I'll be making "a few" boards and maybe some other stuff in the near future ?

Nice board you got there man. Dig the DD-20.

That's cool, I did one similar to that.. 2 weeks after i built it though, i added 3 pedals to my rig, and now it's to small.. ☹

Great idea, i was super keen on doing that.. Went to over 10 pawn shops around the Durban area.. COULD NOT FIND ONE!!!

So I ended up with a luggage bag, R200 from a pawn shop.. One similar to this.. not yellow though..

THEN... I'm going to build a pedalboard and am going to cut out hard foam to line the luggage case.. Possibly a hard and long way to go around to doing it.. But keen to try it ?

Here's my board...

It looks so empty in comparison to some other here ☹
I'm using a Warwick board and bag. Just got my Mogami cables and Amphenol jacks from Matta and installed it. (Thanks Matta) Not yet 100% happy with the layout. Still experimenting with pedal order etc...

I still have my EHX Switchblade and Boss DD3 to put in but I might end up not doing it.... Might sell them... :-\ Don't need the DD3 with the Nova there...
