This is a concert from the tour to support Simpson's 2007 Album Prodigal Son. Simpson is not exactly Alice Cooper, there's not a lot of showbiz going on here, but it's a chance to watch and marvel at the technique of a master player.

And there's a whole lot going on here. Simpson plays a whole bunch of finger picked stuff in American and British styles. There's banjo. There's fab slide playing. Even lap steel. On one number he gets out an e-bow and combines that with slide to great effect.
A very touching version of the song he wrote for his father, "Never Any Good", and a stunning reworking of the Richard and Linda Thompson song "Strange Affair".
