Hello GFSAers!
I was planning on buying a new guitar, I had a budget of about R12000 and was looking at the tokais or perhaps and ESP....
Now my budget has been stripped due to unexpected expenses!
I have about R4000 -R6000max!!
Any suggestions on a great budget axe that sounds good, feels good and provides good bang for your buck!??
I would say im looking at something quite versatile that could be quite good for hard rock and metal...

with the recent crazy fender and gibson prices, as well as the pitiful selection of gear in general within that price range, I would go 2nd hand and look at an ibby. Gearhead's one is quite nice too

For Rock ive been reading up that the Cort EVL Z2 Z4 and Z6 models are amazing for rock music.

New Ibanez guitars for R4k-R6k will be VERY decent. 2nd-hand, you're looking at VERY VERY decent guitars. They're incredibly versatile guitars but I am, of course, referring to the RG, RS and S series guitars. I've never played a Fender-like Ibanez or Gibson like Ibanez.

Save up a little and get something special, I'd say. For R8K-R9K you can get a made-in-Japan Tokai that would pose a real challenge to any manufacturer of a similar styled guitar.
Or second hand, look for a 600,700, or 800 series Yamaha Pacifica - they come in a tele-ish or stratish style body and vary between '50s style guitars or super-strats. Fantastic guitars.
