Wow, I am still in awe of that oak! A good friend of mine heard about Dan coming to PTA on Wednesday and that he was playing at News Cafe Menlyn and straight away he gave me a ring. I got so excited because I've always wanted to see the guy live... The News Cafe management were so confused they changed the times like 5 times... First it was going to be on Friday evening with a R50 cover charge, Then my friend phoned on Friday just to check and they said that NO tonight (Friday) they have Wasserval and that Dan is only on Saturday night... Then He phoned again and the manager said that Dan is performing Friday evening and that they are on stage now doing a sound check... At the end he just drove there (like at 4:30) and he ended up seeing the stage at another place called Cubana and that it was starting at 6... I got dressed quickly and I was in for the show of my life.
I am still so stunned at what he did and the total quality of his playing I don't even know how to describe it. I am sure most of you have already seen him live, but for those who haven't... DO NOT LET AN OPPORTUNITY SLIP BY!!!! It was just amazing, and to have talent like that in SA is priceless! He looks so young but plays like a beast! There were some issues with the power and it cut out like 2 times, but still, I enjoyed it a hell of a lot! From now on I will go see every show of him in a 60km radius from me! True quality and talent!
