Ray you are very entertaining, partly because of the lack of paragraphs that give me the impression you are saying it all in one breath, but also because you seem to write like you speak.
I've met Ray. He's awfully nice and very clever don't you know.
I'm writing in this style because, in fact, this is how Ray talks in real life. He's clearly old money and has a plummy accent that makes that Prince Charles character sound like the new money commoner he really is.
Conversations with Ray are full of things like "spiffing" and "tally ho!".
It's so clever, such an artful contrivance. The common likes of me post in a way that is close to our own nature. But not Ray, he skilfully adds a layer of contrivance and unassuming wit for our enjoyment.
I felt like calling him "Sir" or "yer Lordship" but he wouldn't hear of it. He slapped me on the back (not too hard, of course) and said "No need for that sort of rot old chap, we're all on the same side now what!"
A scholar and a gentleman is our Ray.
