Chord Chart Software

Does anyone know which software is good for writing chord charts? not full staff, but chord diagrams and staff so I can add the melody line and lyrics as well?

Have you tried Tuxguitar - it's open source.

Will try it now. I have been using a really old version of Cakewalk and it prints sheet music really well.

I've also used Notation player to print staff but it doesn't allow for chord diagrams...

Thanks Rene - just downloaded the software - looks great.
Just started with it this evening but when I insert the graphic of a chord onto the staff it doesn't name the thing. Am I doing something stupid?

Hey Pete

Try this, go into the VIEW menu, hover over CHORD STYLE, and make sure both CHORD NAME and CHORD DIAGRAM are ticked. I just tried it and it worked.

Thanks for that. Now trying to work out how to add lyrics and not just a single word at a time. ☹
