I have just joined the forum and am glad to see that South Africa has so many musicians!!!!
I have been out of the country for 20 years and just got back recently.
I love playing rhythm guitar and singing, my favourites being Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Murray Head, Van Morrison, Otis Redding, etc.
I have only one guitar and nothing else, a Yamaha FG-401 which my sister gave me!!! I love the sound it has and the strength too. I do get rough seeing that I travel quiet a bit and play wherever I go. Loved Mozambique and the rhythm of life and the music.
I also teach guitar lessons, mostly beginners and some intermediate students. I am a hands on person and teach them to play first and then get the theory in.
Well, that's enough for now. I hope to learn lots over here and to maybe get together with others to jam and get to know new people. I have no friends yet, havent been home long enough.
