Fokofpolisiekar may take some beating.
At varsity in 70-76 I played in a band that did a lot of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young stuff. We were a bit shit so we called ourselves Motley, Stools, Slash and Dung....

Tokyo Police Club
Two Door Cinema Club

Yep, pretty much the worst ever.
Read that The Butthole Surfers were quoted as saying that if they had formed in more leniant times like today they would have called themselves The Bleeding Vaginas (paraphrase, it was more colourful than that).
I always thought Led Zeppelin was pretty weak, even though they're my number 2 band of all time.
The Beatles. Pretty crummy too imho.

I was in a punk band in high school called 'five minutes famous'. I cringed even then
Renesongs
Yeah the late 70s New Wave / Punk bands had some pretty stupid names. I played for one called Fred Smith my brother plated for one called The Safari Suits we were often billed together with a band called Housewife's Choice. Mind you I am not doing to well with band names these days I played with a band called Tall Order which has to be the dumbest name conceivable and another called the HiTones the inspiration being that the lead singer's name was Tony as as in " Hi Tony"

I'm From Barcelona... they are not.
Manchester Orchestra... not from Manchester, not an orchestra.

U2 - Come on. That'd be a crap name for a euro pop-techno band.
That band with the longest band name ever that MIKA likes. That name leaves a sneer of derision on my face that lasts for ages.

I played drums in a band called Armed Populous for a few years (not my fault - they had it when I joined them). Long story, concerning a fake Hunter S. Thompson quote, a guitarist who was still learning English and a printer who couldn't spell...
Otherwise the band that used to share gigs with Pink Floyd wins the prize IMO: The Utterly Incredible Too Long Ago to Remember Sometimes Shouting at People.

A mate played for a band called "Aeroplaza" (apologies if a former member is reading this). But man! That's a sucky name.
MIKA-the-better-one
