Pratice problems

Hi, my problem is I want to practice with my amp and stomp boxes. My wife want's to watch the latest soapy or 7'de Traan >☹ :'(
My amp (H&K Duo combo) doesn't have a line out or headset socket. Now I'm thinking of getting a Digitech RP500 to have a one stop solution to practice in the spare room - I can also play a cd player at the back input of the rp500. I stay in a 2 Bedroom townhouse, so space is a premium. Is this the best option to go or is there something easier / cheaper to do? Thanks.

Get a PVR decoder, record the soaps! She can watch it later that way the neighbors won't complain when you play at 22:00 in the evening ?

I don't do the Dish thing ? Put my money into Guitars & Photography. Just have the useless 1,2,3 & e channels ?

I had a look at the GT10 & Line 6 X3 live, but it seems a bit highly priced. Maybe I'll just go crazy and buy
a X3 live ? Just have to sell a kidney quickly. Thanks for all the input.

I use a Jamvox - it's a software route with a monitor. Very flexible, good for practice and basic recording. Do a search on the forum for a more detailed rundown, or just google.
