webejame Since i got the introduction mail let me go ahead and do an introduction.. My name is Morne, and i live in boksburg / pta. I am a business owner. I play: Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Keyboard, Violin, Flute / Recorder, Harmonica and currently working on vocals (though not having much success) I listen to Melodic metal and classical music (especially Spanish) I write a lot of my own songs and lyrics / poems but i have no idea how to do a decent recording or what gear i need apart form my condenser mic. So anyone that can tell me how to get going i would really appreciate it ? Thats all for now, keep it real guys and gals
NorioDS Hi Morne ? Thanks for introducing yourself! You definitely came to the right place to learn about recording. We have some serious pros here who talk about "scooping", and other things recording n00bs like you and I might not get ? Your first step is probably to get a decent soundcard. A lot of the peeps here recommend M-Audio. But, ja, I'll let them give you the recording advice. I'm just here to look pretty and welcome people ? Cheers!
MiKeZilLA Welcome I'm just here to look pretty and welcome people @Norio feel free to start lookin pretty as soon as you wish ?
AlanRatcliffe Hi Morne, welcome. Perhaps you should have listed the instruments you don't play - it might have been shorter ? I saw you asked about recording in another thread, so I'll respond there.
FatBoy Welcome Morne! Impressive arsenal of skills you have there, I'm sure some of the knowledgeable (read old) guys on here will be able to help you out with recording advice. They got me up and running ?
AlanRatcliffe knowledgeable (read old) guys <snip> They got me up and running You should be running with comments like that. BTW, did you know your speakers go much louder if you connect them directly into mains power?
Riaan-Combrink Hi, Morne. A belated very welcome to you. Looking forward to hearing a multi-tracked ukulele, Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Violin, Flute / Recorder, Harmonica recording soon!!!
