Hi guys. Has anyone ever built a 'verb pedal with one of these modules? I'd like to build a pedal with one, but I'd like to try make it as versatile as possible. Just looking at the data sheet (http://www.theguitarfiles.com/includes/BTDR-1H.pdf), the possible direct variables include supply voltage (4.5V-5.5V) and supply current(60mA-100mA) and obviously the signal input. Would having a control to adjust the supply voltage and current (don't know if possible for current, but I'd like to find out) vary the output at all? On the data sheet they mention building in a frequency filter before the module. One could have a switch to change between a "low shelf" and "high pass" filter. Would you be able to some how build in pots to control the extent to which the frequency filter's operate? I've had a look around and the most interesting pedal i've seen which uses this module is the 'verb on BYOC, which has a level, swell and tone control. I haven't been able to find a schematic for it though. I have a very limited knowledge of electronics and I was just wondering if anyone has put some thought into/had experience with this reverb module and could offer some insight ? Cool.

All the parts and documentation are in the design files package, you could just get a local PCB house to make up some, cheaper than importing...

The way I see it is my time is worth more than learning how solid state stuff works and then having to design how it's implemented, and I'm going to have to import the belton modules anyway.

If someone is willing to do it, big ups, just let me know as I'll want one

its a pretty simple circuit and as matta says, it has an ExpressPCB layout as well. all that needs to be done is to give that to a PCB producer and get the other components (the belton is $18.50 from small bear and the other components shouldn't be more than $10). factor in shipping of about $5 (less than $2 each for 3 of us) and its a hellavalot cheaper..

Just sent an application for a quote for 3 from NTSPCB. Will see what the outcome of that is, but yeah, prospectively ?

Ok I got the quote. Went for all the bells and whistles: Through-hole plated, solder mask, silkscreen component placement, etc..

R300 each. ?

Probably because the quantity is so low. Not worth it imho.

I've requested another one, as basic as can be, just copper trace on a plain board. We'll see.

Latest quote is R437.98 total, inc carriage for 3. Thats about R146 each.

Problem is: NTSPCB needs a Gerber CAD file as opposed to a Express PCB file (apparently only used by one US PCB manufacturer).

Anyone got any experience with CAD and can transpose? The program they spoke of that should work is called FreePCB.

it actually works out to be a little cheaper getting from the forum guy you were talking about..

If he comes through on it... if he hasn't gotten back to you buy now it shows that he isn't exactly jumping up and down about it.

Also have you checked out Express PCB? Why not get them to make the boards and on ship them? They charge $51 for 3 boards, that is $17 each... I doubt shipping from your Forum guy will be any better or cheaper than it will be from Express PCB... plus they use a courier so while the shipping is $45+ you will get them in 2-3 working days...

if it ends up that we do need to get PCBs printed, we may as well get them done at NTS for R150 a pop.. turn around is 5 days and it won't be $45 to ship, as they're in Cape Town.

btw matta, where did you get your PCBs done for your Fuzilla?

Yes, but you still hit the hurdle of trying to get Gerbers to Northtech...not so easy from Express PCB, but also why the software is FREE, they get you on the PCB's... Re Fuzzsilla, the first batch is from Bosco in JHB, but with future designs I'll bring them closer to home and will prob go with NTS.

I am out of any kits right now. I am waiting on feedback from the first ones I have sent out. Also would need to have a demand for 8 to 10 units before doing it all again. So maybe in a couple of months if I get some interest.
