Conrad Hi All I have installed Cubase LE 4 on Windows 7 but now I have to activate the forsaken thing. I got an activation code from Steinberg and enter it but when I hit the download license button, it reckons that the date / time settings on my computer is incorrect and that I must fix that and try again. Excuse me but WTF??? I posted this same question on a Steinberg forum. I hope I get an answer soon. C
inflames Start | Settings | Control Panel Open Regional and language options. Regional Options, select English South Africa. Click on Customize. Click on the data tab. Ensure that your short date is: 2010-06-21. If you still can't register, play around with the data format. Hope this helps!

inflames Did you have the same problem? It's a ridiculous error for activation Nope, don't even run Cubase ? This is a general crap programmed bug in some software. It generate the key from your system date. So the date need to be in "their" format.
AlanRatcliffe I wondered if maybe the BIOS date was out, even if the OS is set correctly. If the software checks with the BIOS, rather than the OS, it could cause problems - it might presume that you have changed the date to get around a trial limit. Just a guess... In my (few) days of Cubase (VST32), I ended up buying the release version, but downloading and installing the cracked version - it was literally less than half the size and easily twice as stable with all the "security" taken out. ?

Correct Alan, you should check your BIOS date as well. Don't think you can change the layout of the date, but then again when last did I go into a BIOS ?
Conrad No joy yet. Timezone is UCT + 2. I also tried date formats yyyy MM dd and dd MM yyyy OK now that i read this, i will change the BIOS date too.

Conrad OK so just to update everybody... I decided to try the activation again today so I could make a screen capture of the error and send it to Steinberg accompanying a profanity laced email but then it WORKED???..... Anyway..thanks for the input all.
