Ok, its been a long time comin now...... we have been plannin this day ever since we managed to record a single at Bellville Studio last year and we are super excited and geratefull to ave the opportunity to record there again. Bellville Studio has some real top notch gear and all the bands that have recoded there have had really good response from the albums, they sound @ international level.
We started tracking the drums on sat and completed the the tracking on the second day we recorded which was yesterday. so far its sounding really good and songs structures are cool..... the only thing i struggled a bit with was when being produced they take what i thought was cool sounding and and change it around to make more "radio friendly".... we have a great producer (soon to be among the great SA producers) thats helping us and i really do trust him but it just feels a bit weird hearing a song you wrote being changed like that. i think we are gonna have some real good numbers on this and hopefully a few doors will ope for us.

anyway we are having an awsome time and making this one count as we wanna get a pretty wide variety of tunes on this long E.P that we are recording.

here's a link to a little video we made while on the first day we were there. the song that's on here won't be on the album... just in case u think its lame, just wrote it quickly for the video..... I really hope you all enjoy. Thx for Watching

yeah trucker is with us, if you liked Velve then you gonna freakin dig this, little different and grundgier than Velve was but we have a slow trak and a very pop orientated trck goin on there..... we need to get onto the radio somehow and this is i think the route to take.

wouter jammed bass at a show with us at corner bar once, but our permanent bassist now is stanley hill (ex 12th Avenue & Ryno Velvet) . I'm lovin his basslines, our style is a little different to what he used to playin but he's fitting in extremely well and slapping down some seriouse down-lows here. Gonna have some fun when it comes to guitar tracks.... get to pop my vin 30 cab's cherry and see how these speakers perform and sound in studio, at the moment we tracked the guitars with the JVM combo and mic'd up the celestion g12 Heritage spkr and it actually didn't sound bad at all (heard alot of complaints about the speaker on forums), nice and thick sounding using the OD 1 ch on Red with gain @ about 9 o clock .... JVM's have quite alot of gain and although they get niosy i'm still loving the amp.

Good guy, did you see how he looked on his bachelors? Never seen someone that drunk and happy at the same time ?

Stanley is very talented, sure he will kick some ass

JVM's are great, Marshall still have some of the best rock tones out there!
Hell, the even have killer metal tones ?

Best of luck with laying down those guitar tracks!

needleshy

lol, i missed his bachoelors but i can just imagine how he looked.

yeah.... its pretty surprisig how good this marshall's tone is (compared to others i heard) and it gets pretty seriouse when on the OD channels, gets full on metal tones with this one, i lov it. what is also pleasing to me is the fluidity of the gain, its super smooth (when set right) non of that raspy harshness, but sometimes i like that, then i just switch to the P90 on neck position and i get this deep like fuzz..... awsoem.

For a metal tone I just slapped a TS-9 in front of my OD channel, it made things nice and tight.
