Written a book

giggsy

Okay, so I finished my first novel last week after having varying success with my previous three attempts (I got halfway with one of them!). I am now just putting the finishing touches to it and re-reading the second half to make sure it all ties up and checking for spelling errors at the same time. But now what? Anyone had any experience with book publishing? I have worked in magazines for years but books are a totally different kettle of fish.

I know a guy who is busy getting a book published. I will ask him how he went about it if nobody else comes up with an answer,

Hey-hey, Congrats!! No idea what you should do though. I guess first seal a copy in an envelope and mail it to yourself, then send it to as many literary agents and even authors as you possibly can. Whats the genre?

Thanks guys - any help or leads would be appreciated.

I suppose you would call it horror/fantasy. Without giving too much away, its about a guy who gets stuck alone in his townhouse after a virus sweeps the world and turns those infected into bloodthirsty savages.

Do you want to publish locally?

Either, or... not really looking at it as a great money spinner, but you never know.
