I don't mind them either. However, strange as this may sound to you, there are those who do not appreciate them. Heck, there are even some folk who don't like the Parlotones... yep, it's a strange world we live in ?

Haha, this vuvuzela filter is a great idea, why didn't I think of that? It'll def work in Ubuntu. I've got all the LADSPA plugins running nicely on mine and didn't even need to use a terminal to set it up ?

That said, I went to the streets of Cape Town on Friday and blew my vuvuzela in support of Bafana Bafana. It was great fun. My lips were damaged however. I used to really hate them(vuvuzelas), but now I understand...

What is the possibility of doing this in realtime, using something like those ear aids the hearing impaired use, i.e. a small device that can be programmed to block out or lower certain frequencies, such as the vuvuzela, or lower noise over a certain decibel or frequency. Could be useful me thinks.

It would be possible, but we just don't have enough time to build, test and manufacture them for this world cup ?

The best would be to do this at home during a live match.
You will need a PC, TV tuner card and good old faithful Ubuntu ?

I was wondering, do they all produce the same note? And if so, what? Maybe it can be altered by using different materials, lengths etc.

The stock standard vuvuzelas produce the B-flat at 233 Hz. The blog about how to filter them shows us this by specifying the frequencies to block as 233, 466, 932 and 1864 Hz. i.e. the principle tone and its first 3 harmonics.
