The Boss GT v. ME? Originally the ME (guitar multiple effect) was designed to work with an amp, while the GTs (guitar effects processors) were designed to work instead of an amp. The multiple is more of a collection of programmable stomp boxes in one, while the processor has more of a patch-based approach. Since they've added amp and speaker modelling and basic patch programming to the ME range, the difference isn't as big as it used to be.
