The torture

So, I went through town today looking for something with my mom and we stopped in all the pawn brokers to see if we could find it.. And, low and behold, there is a BRAND new JVM 410H... It was beautiful, perfect condition, not a scratch on it..

The worst part is, she was selling it for R9500.. What a price, they must retail for close to R25k? If i had 9k I would've bought it, but alas, i don't! So durbanites, if you're looking for a monster amp, here is a deal and a half! ?

Don't ya hate it when you find deals like this and you just don't have the cash to buy it? ☹

I just cannot imagine who would have pawned that amp and for how much, for them to be able to sell it for R9,500!!!!!

If I was in Durbs now, I'd FIND the money, buy it, (without saying a word) and then sell it at a profit if I did'nt need it .............even for R5,000 more.......geez, why don't these bargains happen where I live.......... ☹

Does anyone have a contact number for this shop?

they do you maybe just arn't regularly checking the pawn shops. ? ......

i do weekly here in jhb and have a list about 20 items long of incredible deals i picked up in last 18 months..... i also keep what i want and sell what i don't want ........

but i do look more than i buy ......... about 1 in 6 trips involves a buy but thankfully my teaching takes me all around jhb and i tie it in with that ... i see Joel on forum also does it regularly and tips me off too

Unfortunately I don't have a contact detail, I just know where it is..

Let's be honest, I highly doubt that it isn't stolen. It just doesn't make sense that a brand new one would be sold for that much. I mean, really! I wish with everything in me that i had R9.5k. Anyone want a plane ticket to USA? ?

? I think you're right on that one Keira. From what i understand, Andy MCGibbons and a few other fine guitar stores in Joburg have Aubrey's photo framed up in their store right by the cashier ? He's their patron saint.

Saint Aubrey. Actually, there is no St Aubrey in the records. you could be the first Aubs. you just need to do something miraculous, like win 3 challenges set by Bob in a row or the like...
