Looks like it was rendered on a 3D Animation program. Kyle Gas could play that guitar any day. He could just materialise more arms like on Pick of Destiny ?

R 5/6000 for a custom case
R ? for a custom car boot to put it in
a custom stage to play it on ...

I'll consider it a piece of art,something to look at.
Last time i checked, none of friends has 24 arms.

With 24 arms one can play a symphony orchestra on your own, damn i'm 22 short.

I checked this out, this/these guitar/s is/are fully functional and were designed and built by Yoshihiko Satoh. I don't think I'd hire his services as a luthier - here are a couple more of his designs.

The Pikasso guitar was designed and built for Pat Metheny by renowned luthier Linda Manzer. It's fully functional and quite a good sounding instrument which also features a MIDI pickup:

Apologies for the mix-up with the Pikasso - you cant trust everything you misread on the net - Would it be the midi pickup that makes the Pikasso sound a bit like a Koto ?

No, that's the very short scale of the 12-string neck (12 individual strings, rather than 6 courses of two strings, BTW) that has the kotoish tonality. You'll also notice that it's used more like a harp, the short fretless fingerboard isn't used. The MIDI pickup is on the normal 6-string only.

A very interesting instrument. Kind of McLauglin's Shakti acoustic on steroids.

That harp sound on the guitar sounds awesome. I have always wanted to play the harp. I think being a harp player is the pimpest thing ever. Is there anyone in South Africa that can or have build a guitar/harp?
