I think you're right. I did consider shortening it a little at one point, but didn't consider rounding it off.

It is far more Strat than Tele anyway. Basically only the bridge/bridge pickup and the middle switch position (Neck +Bridge pickups) are Tele. I do prefer the sleeker Strat aesthetic to the more industrial Tele, but the pickguard still draws more attention to the bridge than none at all. My original pickguard idea was to have the top part of the guard curve upwards like a Tele, but as I was cutting down an existing Strat guard, that wasn't an option and the Strat curve shows more wood.
