Next axe fx update bringing a new amp...

Best news I've had all week,
word on the Fractal site is that a new firmware update will bring a really cool amp to the axe, the Shiva!

Good for you. I hear the Axe-FX has a Bogner Uberschall model, is that true? That is the amp sim I use in my POD XT.

yeah, the uber is there though I never use it. I'm enjoying the vox ac30 with redwirez impulse responses, the mesa mk. iv, and the engl Powell. I tried the fender twin with mixed results. nice cleans but not for me.

It's also quite excessive, when I priced the Axe-FX it came out being more like R26k so I think perhaps our friend here hasn't looked in the right places.

I don't want to start a debate here as I'm merely curious as to the pro's and cons of both a Kemper and an Axe-fx. Please someone clarify. :-[

Direct from Fractal (the MK2 version not the XL model) - $2199.00 = R23,400.00 + VAT = R26,600.00 + R1500.00 shipping = R28,170.00...that's using EMS Couriers for shipping, not UPS as indicated on the site, UPS will cost double the EMS price.
The XL model - $2500.00 = R27,650.00 + VAT = R31,500.00 + shipping = R33,000.00.

When I was in Europe recently I saw that PRS guitars were a LOT more expensive in the UK shops because of the same reason.

Totally agree with Lance on this, 40k is too much. Check the fractal forums for a second hand one, or alternatively register an account with myus.com They will receive it from Fractal and then repackage it and forward it to you.
when I imported mine through them, someone labelled it as a CD player, and for some reason valued it at 300 bucks, so the import duty was like R50, was dumb luck but nevertheless a nice surprise when I collected it ? ?

however, if you want good advice : buy a Kemper
