Floyd rose D-tuna "mod" on Lo-pro bridge

Howzit everyone.

I'm busy fixing up one of my RG's at the moment - bought some Dimarzio pups and new pots,switch etc - and was thinking installing one of those D-tuna jobs on the bridge to make going down to drop-d tuning easier ala EVH. I foresee a small problem though :? It doesn't look like it would fit too well on the RG's lo-pro bridge as there's possibly not enough space between the locking screws and the fine tuners for the "tuna" to pop out freely.

Has anyone got any ideas how to get around this and where I can find one of these locally?

Top pic is of the lo pro bridge on my RG

Bottom pic is of the D-tuna. It basically fits into the slot of the bottom e string locking bolt. It basically allows you to go from standard tuning to drop-d tuning on a floyd bridge without the tuning going all over the place. The "tuna" pops out to drop and pushes back in to go back up.

It won't work with the IBZ Lo-Pro. You'd have to fit a Floyd original bridge.

Also, if you don't want your other strings to go sharp when you use it, you'll have to add a trem stabiliser like the Tremol-no.

Oh well. I have a trem setter lying around aswell - I think I'll pop that in anyway.

A bit off topic but this is the RG I'm fixing up. Not a great pic but a way cool guitar that I've neglected a bit since I bought my LPs a few years ago.

It's an RGR570IPP exactly like the one in the pic. Will try post some proper pics of my actual gear soon 8)

I had one as well. The trem needed too much work and I found the neck was too thin for me.
Very cool guitars if you can get used to that neck though. 24 frets ftw!

I know what you mean Donovan. That neck is super thin. I prefer a beafier neck hence the change to the LPs.

I still dig the RG though 8)

Ja it's a mean machine. I have a Samick now with a thinker neck and a similar trem so I prefer this now. all my guitars have similar necks with the exception of the Les Paul which is a little flatter but good for a lot of things...

Ja, that neck was waaaaaaay to thin! I like them narrow and fat ?
