I wonder if someone in the house can assist here plse. It's not want I want to do but I felt I just needed to formalize things a bit so I heard about a classical guitar teacher locally and signed up with her. So the last time I went for music lessons was in my teens hey and that was a time when classical music was being rammed down my throat and up my you know what
Yes. It's a little disconcerting when it goes up your nostrils.
becasue I think my mother had some ambition dreams pretty much the same as I see the parents of the little kids coming to ballet classes have. Anyway, that's not a sweat becasue classical music is quite nice hey.
Anyway, here I am and I've been to a lesson with this aunty and she is also nice. I think she is too nice because this isnt like I used to get. I mean the piano, clarinet and cello teachers I went to were quite violent hey. The bird who taught clarinet even used to hit me.
We live in an age which is more forgiving, more nurturing, more inclined to sue the ass of anybody who so much as lays a finger on little Johnny.,
I also dont really know how good this chic is so I've been thinking that I want to sort of put a gauge on what I am achieiving. And the way I want to do that is to take the examinations. Now, way back there were two institutions you could follow viz. Trinity college and UNISA. There may have been more but those were the ones that I was exposed to. Piano I did Trinity and cello and clarinet I did UNISA. The general feeling was that UNISA was more credit worthy as far as technical difficulty and just about everything went but I dont know becasue I wasnt interested enough to take notice. It was a drag for me then. But what I want to know is if anyone knows how I would go about getting in touch with a formal organization to make enquiry about this examination stuff.
You know, every time I have a question or feel I have something to say, I start typing and then when I have said it I look at the post and see such a lot of waffle and snot but I dont want to hurt my feelings by deleting it so I leave it there, so I'm sorry for wasting your time.
Well I'm just sitting around waiting for the dew to lift so I can take the dogs for a walk without them getting filthy dirty, so don't feel bad about it.
Sometimes you need to get things out there so that you can examine them. As England cricket captain (and now pyschologist) Mike Brearley once said "I can't know what I think until I hear what I have to say."
Ray. methinks thou hidest a not inconsiderable light under a bushel. Me further thinks that thou should enter a couple of GFSA competitions and maybe even pitch up at an open mic night so as to focus that brilliance and share it with the rest of the world.
