what i find sometimes is that the DVD setting is wrong.
for instance with the Metallica S&M, you have to go into the menu and set it for 5.1 or stereo. If you don't you get either/or and its a lottery.
5.1 through stereo sounds kak and vice versa...
Hehe oops :-[... On my first listen I had put it on stereo for some reason. So it does sound a quite a bit better now. My sound system also has millions of options on it.. so fiddling with those has improved it somewhat. The drums and bass are sounding good now, but the vocals still sound as if they've been mixed too loud. The guitars are pretty mushy as well.
Now that I've done that it is enjoyably listenable... but still. Not quite the same standard as my Ozzy or AILD dvd. But the AILD sounds as if there is a lot of dubbing going on. I dunno how live recordings work, but on the AILD dvd it almost sounds too good to be live ?
