9v 18v switch

Hey guys

Lately ive been looking at buying a Warlock B.C. Rich guitar (link below). It comes with the emg 81/85 set which is mainly used for metal which is what ill mostly be playing, but I also want some great clean tones and people say that this pickup set does not deliver brilliantly there. While I was looking around i read the 18v mod makes your signal cleaner and less compressed. So i was just wondering if its easily done to put in a switch for easy access to change from 9v to 18v?

Easily done, but no point doing it - if you have 18V, use it. The pickups will sound better.

I don't think the mod to 18V should kill your tone there. The main advantage of EMG in distorted tone is that it stays clear. You (85) have the dark without the muddy and (81) the scream without the squeal. No distorted tone loss imho.
