One string too many? 15 string bass
aja
I would have preferred an even number... ?
Gearhead
Why would they equip this harp with a fretboard? ??? ???
AlanRatcliffe
To my thinking that's about 10 or 11 strings too many.
Malkav
That's quite overkill but the spacing between the strings would probably make this thing quite difficult to fret cleanly making me wonder of it's validity as a bass, if you go on youtube and search "Jean Baudin - Transcend" you'll see an 11-string bassist make it seem like quite a valid instrument if playing solo is your presence ?

Kinda like the Warr guitars & bass guitars.
Very interesting, but i guess its purely a solo instrument.
Malkav
I don't really see an issue with it being a solo instrument I mean Jean Baudin makes amazing use of it ? and if I could afford one I'd love it ? I'd really love to know what it is though? Also check out his track "Be Water, My Friend" it's intensely awesome ?

I would shred on that ?

It looks like a new-age sitar with pickups! (Though according to Wiki, sitars can have up to 23 strings?! ???)

Oh well, I guess the Luthier saw a gap in the market, that being that bass players always want to fiddle around in the guitarist's register. ?
You've got to sympathise with them though - plonking away on the bottom end all the time. ?
