Keira's pta gig at sinkhuis cancelled today Sunday 16th ... and guess why???

hows this for a musicians story ..........

i was booked to play at pta venue "1892 sinkhuis" on 25th of last month but weather washed it out ........... so we resheduled for today the 16th ....inbetween sycoustic had a gig there . great act if you not seen them......... so the venue has posters and everything to advertise today...... this was 2 weeks ago........... so i arrive there with my gear at 11 to set up to find it deserted????????????? yep not a soul and i was puzzled cos they ussually do breakfast there on sunday in fact everyday .............. so then the guy from the antique store that shares the same property comes out and tells me that the restaurant has "closed" and the noise in the background is the generator they(the antique shop ) have to use cos the restaurant did not pay the electricity....and they were cut off........ ? yeah this is quite funny and shocking all in one...cos pta has just lost a music venue............ and the owner can't be too happy closing the doors.......... so yeah the up side is least the restaurant was in my own suburb in pta ........ and not in northcliff then i definitely would not feel sorry for them and .......wonder why i was not notified...........

so sorry for anyone planning to come to the show.......... but this is the music /restaurant biz at it's worst ............

yeah this is par for the course of being a pro muso............and one gets used to it ...... so no worries about not doing the gig anyway i did 2 gigs yesterday so not like i'm quiet ........ the jhb scene is treating me very well.........

so enjoyed the time off and took the better half for lunch , however i did miss not playing....... i'm a live performance addict .... will do 8 gigs a week if i could find em......... cos doing my shows improvised as i do every show is a new experience and always exciting to see where it will go......

but yeah i'm more sad that i've , and in fact all of pta's muso's have lost a possible live music venue that is literally 3 km from my house ?

anyway i can easily excuse someone who's restaurant has obviously just gone bankrupt from forgetting to call me........i'm sure he has other things on his mind........ i lost 1 gig but he lost his livelyhood .......... thats scary

as for toni's she's still in a court battle re the zoning and can't have live music ....we know her from many visits there ...was there on wed actually ...best pizza in pta for us anyway ........... and she has my cd,

and gideon is a friend of my partner carol, i have played there unplugged one evening kinda impromtu when he had a vip.... but he prefers piano(he plays ) and doesn't seem keen to have my guitar music(he said it was too vibrant and not meditative enough for him ...) yet he plays my cd there ..cos i have had the owner or artwise contact me after hearing it there when she was there for dinner to buy one .....so who knows..........but i have plenty of work at moment (for june and july ) so not gonna push anyone too hard....

but it will be nice to play in area....... now that i'm a local for last 7 months ... so any other idea just mail me, especially the more "arty" places...

i want to try get in to do some shows at Papa's in hatfield......they have music and acoustic music cos greg georgdias plays there every now and then but also great food ...try the lamb chops there ..... the favourite in the area for me for lamb....

but yes we must connect up sometime to talk guitars since we neighbours .......
