It seems I have been posting since some time last year and have missed this vital step in guitarforum.co.za membership!

I'm 27, from Durban, started playing guitar in church in 1999 and haven't stopped since then. Play mostly acoustic, strumming type stuff and a bit of fingerstyle. I'd love to learn to play classical properly but don't really have the time or patience right now. Lately I've been delving into the world of electric guitar and playing some lead stuff, but still remain true to acoustic!

Other than playing guitar, I also enjoy (in order of preference and seriousness!): Cycling, Rock Climbing and Surfing.

Welcome man. I've had a similar experience. Played acoustic in a P&W team for many years. Think it's been around 3 years that I've been playing electric.

You have a Landola! There's something you don't see every day. How about some more info and some pics? I hear very good things about those.
                  Hi Dillon

                  The Takamine looks good!

It's nothing too fancy Bob, but I had to get one since the factory is literally within 30km of where my dad grew up in Finland. They do make better models but this is just an entry level with solid spruce top only. The back and sides are laminate Mahogany, with a rosewood fingerboard. It's a small body guitar, with no electronics/pickup - perfect for jamming around the campfire. The build quality is suprisingly good for a cheaper instrument, but the thing that really interests me is the sound. It really sounds a lot bigger than it is and has a deep bass response for it's size. The actual model number is AC-200 (which I think has been discontinued) and it was made in August 2004.
