@ Arjun - I actually forget about Brian Fanner, I've gigged quite a few times with Ian's band so I'll just make sure I have a conversation with him about it next time I see him ? and yes it's my RG1527 (ugly damn colour that it is) I'm quite happy with the fretboard though (can't really say much for the frets - I'd prefer 6100) but still I recently bought an RG320 MH to practice on at home so I don't wear out the frets on my Japanese RGs (or the strings - can't afford to restring all these things every month) and I'm going to hopefully be putting Lumo Green Dimarzio's in it (D-Sonic & Air Norton of course) and I was thinking it'd be cool to have green fret markers (it's a black stained mahogany finish) of course I stole this idea from the original universe guitars but it looks awesome so whatever ?
Awesome stuff man. Thankfully, Ibanez have opened their eyes and are bringing out extended range instruments in a few more colours than just black and that weird green-blue ? Interesting that you mention the RG320 MH, because i bought a 320 FM a short while ago and modded it to keep my hands in shape for 6 strings (and the 7620 helps with the 7 strings bit). Helps with transitioning from 7 to 6 and back.
Re fretboards, I prefer the no dots virgin fretboard look ?
And good luck trying to find the lumo green D-Sonic & Air norton man (you going for the Universe look like the one in the "Lie" video?). Nice p/up combo BTW..it takes one petrucci fanboy to know another one i guess ? . I know that Dimarzio used to have all those exotic colours in the 80s and early 90s, not so sure if they still sell 'em. I reckon its going to be a hard find man.
Do let me know how it goes with Brian Fanner.
Good luck.
