Attila A few weekend ago, I was sent a link to youtube of a fella playing some delta blues on a cigar box guitar (CBG), So i check out the history of the CBG and delta blues. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWtHV5vGhJE&feature=related http://cigarboxguitars.com/workshops/How_To_Build_A_CBG.php It turns out the poor folk in the Mississippi area built these guitars from anything lying around, and ranged from a single string to three and fancy six stings. and the style of playing is plucking, banging and slide made from a wine bottle's neck. Armed with this and help from the web I set off to the local cigar shop in Rosebank and bummed a Cigar box and went home and was hell bent that I would use whatever was lying around, So this is what I came up with in around 3 hours and doesn't sound too bad either
Attila Thanks Chaps Manfred : The strings are old rusty steel string A & G and B, guys use nylon, fishing gut, fence wire almost anything that would produce an effect, tuning is also dependent on your "feeling" Norio: I fashioned a slide out of a wine bottles neck, tried a brass tube but the sound was too metallic, I found glass on metal give a more mellow likeable sound for fun I plugged into my Funky Monkey .. what fun !!!!! neighbours still aren't speaking to me
Riaan Looks like a nice weekend project to combine with the toilet plunger talkbox! Just think of the possibilities!
