Bob-Dubery A nice article that explains a couple of things that used to look like voodoo to me. Thanks
singemonkey This should be made sticky. Wonderful article. I somewhat hope I never develop as keen an ear for tuning as he has. I wouldn't want to go mad with frustration shifting from playing at the nut to playing further up the fretboard. Until that PC died, I was really enjoying the simulation of a rack tuner (of the type he mentions) in Amplitube Fender. I don't know if the sim version was as good, but I certainly got my guitars in better tune on that than with anything else. Quite delicious sounding. That headphone tip for acoustics is very interesting. The whole thing is damn interesting.
Wizard These articles are very useful. Is there a material difference between electronic tuners in terms of their ability to get an easy & accurate? Specifically: - Cort E410 http://www.cortguitars.com/accessories/tuners - BOSS TU-80 http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=600&ParentId=252 - BOSS TU-12 http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=1003&ParentId=252 - strobe tuner http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Accessories/Electronic_tuners/Peterson_VS-F_StroboFlip.html?actn=100101&xst=3&xsr=7574
Wizard I found a software strobe tuner on the internet. http://www.tbstrobetuner.com/ Downloaded it and tried the free demo. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it really does give you great tuning precision.
