'Some people love music. Some people play music. Some people are music.
That is so true. It puts all of us with our expensive GAS to shame IMO...
I'm always amazed at what one encounters. In my town, a homeless guy with a beaten up old acoustic guitar came up to me recently, and I thought "here we go again, he want's money and he'll tell me it's for food, but he'll buy booze instead"
He actually asked for money to buy some strings, "want snare is nou so duur" he said. And he was missing a string. So I had to help a fellow guitarist and gave him some money - I don't know if he really bought strings or not but he proceeded to play for us in return for my donation, and the guy was good! He used some strange tuning, weird chord patterns, and a gholf tee as a pick, but he did some really interesting tunes and clearly enjoyed himself a lot. I can't help but wonder what a guy like that would come up with if he was given access to the instruments and stuff most of us have.
