If you're prepared to go for a new one, I've been checking out the Orange Tiny Terror series which seem fantastic. The basic terror comes either in a teeny head, or as a 1X12 combo. It switches between 7W and 15W. The Dual Terror goes a step further and gives you (in the same size amp head) 7W, 15W, and 30W switching. Like: Bedroom; very small club, big club. People seem to really dig them.
There's a thread somewhere about who the dealers are and the approximate costs (I think they said about R6,500 before discount for the Tiny Terror head).
In case you're thinking blues with an Orange? Peter Green recorded Black Magic Woman and Albatross on an Orange.

I'm seriously looking at getting an Orange as my next amp. Probably the Dual Terror or Rockerverb... They have great tone.
You'll probably be thrilled with a tiny terror if 1 channel is enough for you and the duel terror if you need two dedicated channels.
Would have loved to go Mesa, but their decent amps start at 100 watts which is way too much power for most applications. The Mesa Trans Atlantic is another great little lunchbox amp to consider... if only it could produce that duel rectifier sound which I love... It's got the rest though.
Another amp I can highly recommend is the Line6 Spider Valve. Its 40 watts, so might be overkill, but it has excellent tone. From Fender cleans to Marshall Brown sound to Mesa Duel Rectifier. It does everything exceptionally well and has all the necessary effects built in + you can program patches that are foot controlled. The Spider Valve’s signal path: digital preamp => 2 pre-amp tubes => 2 6l6 Power amp tubes. The total amp section is 90% Tube and the digital part of the pre-amp gives massive flexibility to the Spider Valve’s tone. There is an online mod that can also be done to ad a 3rd pre-amp tube before the digital section which brings the overall tone close to an all Valve but with much more flexibility. If this amp is up your alley, try and get the original Spider Valve second hand instead of the new MKII. The MKI’s amp models sound much better than the MKII’s. The effects built into the MKII is much more flexible, but if tone is more important than effects, many including myself prefer the MKI.
