Hi Guys and girls
Anyone have any experience with this guitar? Considering buying one off a mate. Needs a setup though cos action is way too high to my liking. What would be a realistic offer, considering the sale includes a gator hard case and both are in great condition?

I have a AEG10 in blue burst. It's a very good starting acoustic. Solid spruce top. Mine is one of the first ones with the Fishman electronics with no built in tuner (IMO the better ones).
Brand new retail is something like R3200 last I saw one, but depending on condition I'd say no more than R2200 (incl the case). If a shop has some old stock of those guitars you might pick up a new one for less.

Most Ibanez instruments are of decent quality and the AEG10E is a fine instrument to get going with.
My concerns with second hand instruments however go beyond the pristine look of the finish. For example
has this instrument been left in the boot of a car in the baking sun? A lot of people just don't realise how
much damage can be done to an instrument so exposed.It is a well known fact that most glues deconstitute
in the presence of heat. You can imagine what would happen to an instrument's integrity whilst lying in the boot of a hot car.
My advice is have someone who really knows what they are doing check out the instrument, before the money is committed.
