Andy McGibbon's >> +1 on Service!!

SvR65

Just thought I'd share this:

I'm really super-chuffed with the service I've been getting from Andy McG's this past couple of days! You get to speak to the man himself, not some assistant who'll leave messages, and he phones you back when promised! And he really is willing to go the extra mile for a possible customer.

As in literally. As in driving to suppliers HIMSELF (because the rep forgot to take it to him) and picking up a Vox Night Train head just so that I can try it out the weekend!
(NOTE: He's got no guarantee that I'll like the amp and buy it!!)

That says a lot of the man and the way he does business.

Makes me want to buy the amp purely out of principle! Haha! ?

Anyways, I'm looking forward to doing business with Andy McGibbon's and will let ya'll know whether the story will have a "happily ever after" ending or not... ?

I have never really had much joy at other shops in Joeys...

I am a big Andy McG supporter... and I trust NO ONE else...
Highly regarded and recommended.

Glad to see others feel the same... ?

He has great coffee too...... ?

Well, Andy's is always my 1st when I'm thinking of getting most stuff.

I have bought a few guitars from him, PRS, Tokai and lots of bits and pieces........EXCELLENT service..........both Andy and Eve (and their staff) are truly people you always wanna do business with.

To be honest, I am struggling with them... and I know its not the place to slag them off on a forum where they cannot defend themselves (which I am not doing - I am just relaying my experience) but I just wanted to add my 2 cents.

I dropped off my V to have a Floyd fitted on Jan 25, three months and a day ago, and I still haven't got it back even though I was assured that it would only take a week or two. I have had to follow up myself a number of times on the progress, no calls from them, and keep on being told that they are waiting for parts. Okay, that's understandable, even though I am sure that I could have sourced the parts myself a lot quicker, but anyways, a courtesy call would be nice. At the same time that I dropped the V off, I left another guitar there for them to sell on consignment, which they duly did. But no-one let me know. When I was checking up again on the V I enquired whether there had been any interest shown on my guitar only to be told it had been sold two weeks prior. Again, would have been nice to have been informed. They did transfer the money immediately though, although the guitar was sold for a few hundred rands less than the reserve which we had set.

But as I said, I dont want to unfairly target them on a forum but just thought that I should relay my experience. I have wanted to go in and chat to them about it, but its a hour and a half round trip and I haven't been out that way for work in ages.

First time dealt with them was on saturday morning last week and i was surprised by the level of interactiveness. I pretty much spoke to everyone and even got a great cuppacino ... will feedback once i get my guitar back on work done but by most accounts everyone is happy hence i went there in the first place. What i really liked about Andy's is the quiet relaxed atmosphere ...after andy's i went up the road and they dont quite have the same atmosphere.

Well, I havent bought anything expensive at Andy's. I went in and got tickets to the Tony Cox show and bought a set of strings. Well, they were excited about selling me that which sort of surpized me but it was lekker anyway. So, my thinking is I want to get something there or get something done there.

I know, annoying hey? Went in for some talent and they gave me some weak line about practicing. What the hell >☹
