A Sanchez to go with my Juanita

Okay, so this isn't a massive gear aquisition, but I guess it goes under this heading. I've had to buy a new guitar, because having to walk to work every day with my guitar it's getting it a little beat up, and I guess it's got quite a bit of sentimental value.

So I went to look for the cheapest guitar that I can bash away at at the nursery school, and that I can also leave there. My first stop was at Cash Crusaders, and I feel really guilty buying there, coz it might be stollen goods, even if it looks new, so that's another bit of karma to live with.

I found a nice loud steel string, black, which was not un-playable, and I thought a bit of diversity would be good. I went to check out Bothners, to go see if there would be a massive difference in quality with an instrument worth more than double. Or perhaps I'd just find something that was a better fit. There wasn't. Honestly. And the whole purpose was that this would be a "twinkle twinkle little star" type guitar.

So I'm playing around with it at home and I think, well let me check what the make is at least, and it's a Sanchez, and it goes perfectly with my Juanita.

I see Cash Crusaders are now selling First Act Guitars as well.

I have one of their specials I used to take to Germany. Played ok, but is now relegated to the ornamentals.

Let me know how the steel strings turn out for you. I hate playing steel string acoustics

So far it's been great. Still getting to know the guitar and how to use it to the best of it's ability. I think I'll tune it down a bit to make the strings slacker, when I tuned it up from how it was at the shop it was pretty difficult to do barre's. Other than that the kids haven't revolted because of the new sound, and I enjoy coming home to play my old faithful.
