Ok, the cat should be out the bag by now anyway but I am having a Cornerstone "Zion" built for me. I was originally going to get the Small Jumbo (SJ) but Peter Marreiros (the Luthier) has convinced me to rather go for the Zion with a single top as the double top stretches the budget a little too much once all the options are added up.
The specs for the basic guitar can be seen at:
http://www.cornerstoneguitar.com/Zion.html
However Peter has suggested that, besides the normal tweaking of the bracing for tone, he will change the bracing slightly from the standard Zion in order to cater a little better for medium strumming as well. The Zion is Peters own design which is primarily focused on the Fingerstyle player.
The options that we have pretty much firmed up at present are the following:
1) Model: Zion
2) Ryan Bevel
3) Soundport (but design to be finalised)
4) Pinless ebony bridge - I have decided that I am going to go this route as well as the design makes sense (well, to me anyway)
5) Rosette will be wood and abalone and besides the logo the only inlay on the fingerboard will be on the 12th fret (The inlay may be in maple or abalone - still to decide)
6) Ebony fingerboard
7) Sound Hole and soundport binding in same wood as back and sides binding.
Pick-up - B-Band A2.2 with Preamp - UST & AST
Black Chrome Gotoh 510's with Black knobs
Peter has suggested that if I go with the Quilted Sapele or Curly Mahogany with Engelmann Top, that we should look at ebony binding and Macassar ebony bevel.
