Nice looking headstock, Racman. I assume that the neck still requires shaping?
Correct, now the shaping begins on the neck (7-piece neck). The great thing about Peter's work (and the other Luthiers I have builds scheduled with in the coming years) is that their is no CNC wood work - all crafted by hand. Not that CNC work is bad, it's just nice to know that this is truly hand crafted ? (well, that's just my romantic preference I guess)
I gotta disagree with you a little here, I think it's way better to have most things done by CNC and then have the human hand touch up on the areas where a human feel is more important. The neck being hand finished is a great idea, but the initial cut and the body cut being CNC'd just helps ensure a higher level of uniformity ? In acoustics I guess a lot more should be hand made, in electrics though the ratio should definitly be more in favour of the machines ?
Major props to this thread though, that acoustic is beautiful ? I love the forearm contour and the soundhole at the top ? If you threw in a baritone scale or a multiscale neck I think I'd honestly jizz my pants looking at it ? Reminds me a lot of a Greenfield for some reason :?
I look forward to gassing over your finished guitar ?
