Hi. Is it possible to place a link back to the main page somewhere that's obvious? Such as if you click on the speech bubble that says GuitarForum.co.za? It will make navigation easier back from the discussion topics.

says email is not valid in SMF, dont know what that means,

Yep, please click your nickname (in the forum) and then edit it from there. That's a temporary solution until we fix the real problem.

I am increasingly getting messages complaining about a session time out AND an empty message body.

You can't just resubmit. If you navigate back to the post that you typed up (the first image) and hit the button then nothing happens. You have to reload and THEN resubmit.

(watch that goody two shoes Squonk come along and say that he uses Mtn, IS, UpTheWazooNet, TinCanAndStringNet, CleftStickNet and half a dozen others, including carrier pigeon, and it never happens to him)

Does this happen when you use that proxy service or when you're connected directly to the site? Session issues are normally related to cookie problems which a proxy has a neat way of stuffing up ?

I'm getting them a lot this weekend, and that's going direct. It's not every time, but it's greater than 50% of the time.

If you're up to it, I'd suggest the following to try fix it:
- Clear all cookies
- Clear all temp files
- Clear whatever else you can find ?

I used to get them before the upgrade. Less frequently though, and when that condition arose it would usually persist for some time, possibly even hours (even if you logged out and back in).

These days it's more common (in my experience) and usually a page reload is all that is require.

If you're up to it, I'd suggest the following to try fix it:

- Clear all temp files
- Clear whatever else you can find ?

I've done all that. It didn't make any difference.
