please can you post picz of your dream rigz(please be realistic)
here is my dream rig :the guitar is a custom strat that i designed it has

so thatz the specs. The cabs are 2 Orange 4x12's with Celestion Vintage 30 Speakers & the heads are 2 Orange 100 Watt Rockerverb heads. I heard about ORANGE when i checked out JIM ROOT'S GEAR (guitarist 4 Slipknot & Stone Sour & i just loved the tone of the dirty & clean channels) They have extremely warm mids!!!The NS-2 is there just 2 get rid of any unwanted noise , the MXR GT-OD is there just to give me a boost in solos etc. & the SMALL STONE is there to give me a little bit of colour in solos. Pretty simple rig but very expensive.As you can see my main influence is JIM ROOT!!! I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANY OTHER JIM ROOT FANS!!! THANX

This would require a dream me in dream circumstances. I'd be an ace session player also running a parrallel, low-profile career either solo or in a band of fab players playing potent, intelligent and original music. Great gigs every night of course - because we'd all be playing for the kick of it, knowing that the studio work was going to keep a roof over our heads. Oh... and did I mention great audiences? Because the word would be out and whilst we wouldn't be filling the 02 arena or even the Northgate Dome, all the people in the know would know about us and would come to our gigs and adore our playing and our commitment and our intensity. In the meantime every producer in town would have my cell phone number.

I'd have at least two separate rigs, for studio and live work, and the guitars would include at least one Lowden (now nicely aged and opened up), a G&L (probably a Comanche, but a Legacy would do pretty nicely), a couple of strats, a 335, a nice old Martin and, yes, a Morgan OM. Then there's FX and amps....

But that ain't going to happen. It's too late in life for such a drastic career change and I'm also in the Ronnie Hawkins camp: "There ain't no difference between me and Elvis Presley 'cepting looks and talent."

So... nah... not much point for me in having a dream rig because I'd need dream circumstances to be able to make any sensible use of it.

but however if i had unlimited budget i would love a 50 year or much older Ramirez classical guitar in playable condition and with the tone i like, that i could use live.......

BTW Josh, Fender now actually builds that guitar. It's called the Jim Root Stratocaster. Only difference is that it has a neck pickup as well, and the black one has an ebony fretboard. They are new for this year I believe.

I find myself exceptionally well supplied with guitars:

1xdouble humbucker Les Paul
1xdouble P-90 Les Paul (soon to have a Bigsby)
1xStrat-like Yamaha Pacifica

I've got a great amp, a Fender Bassman, but in my dream rig it gets blackfaced, gets great new speakers, and is generally refurbished. This is an example of how your dream rig can be affected by the stuff you happen to land up with. I didn't know much about bassmans until I got mine. Now I'm quite happy to have one and no other amp in the world.

Other amps I might acquire if money and space was no object:

Fender Deluxe Reverb
Orange Dual Terror

Pedals I've got that I'm thrilled with:

Fuzz-face (modded possibly in my dream rig)
TS9 Tubescreamer
AD9 analogue delay
Vox Wah

Pedals I still want for my live rig:

MXR Stereo Tremolo, or Badcat BFD Tremolo
Boss RV1 '63 Spring Reverb (in my dream rig I'd have a vintage '63 Fender reverb tank)
Possibly a Sansamp pedal for playing ampless or practising with a little solid-state amp

A power supply, a few cables and I pretty much have my dream guitar rig.

Really, the only items I'm missing to have a working version of my dream rig are the tremolo and reverb units. Refurbishing the amp as well would take me into "all I'll ever need" territory.

'Course, once you've got all this gear, there's some pressure to actually use it. I've got a little roadmap for that but it may take a little while to get it together. First step is to get really good at playing guitar ?

Those RV-1s are probably the next best thing if you like tank tone. Roland nailed the tone very well IMO. Did you know Bothners are selling the RV-1 for under a grand at the mo?

Guitars I'm happy, bar a small mod or two here and there.

Ampwise I have the '64 Twin and I should be adding in an acoustic amp for piezos this month (probably the new Ibanez Troubadour T35 - just waiting on stock) as well as a Boss RT-20 (Leslie simulator). Then my signal chain will look like this:

Magnetic pups - Korg Pitch Black - TC Nova Drive - Fender Twin Reverb
Piezo pups - Boss RT-20 - TC Nova Delay - Ibanez T35

I might add in a few In a perfect world, I would have two AER acoustic amps for stereo and an A/B switch to a nice old AC30 for drive tones. And lotsa roadies... ?

Apart from a gibson lp and an es-355 I would just love to get a taylor t5 and a vox virage as well. Also a nicely worn tele and a 70's starcaster. (Already have a great strat) Acoustically, a Custom built electro-accoustic and a nice collings or an old martin om will do. Amps are harder to choose... A nice old scruffy fender tweed deluxe and a mesa mk5 will make me very, very happy though.

Seriously? The Fender reverb tank simulator? Point me at 'em! They available in Plumstead? I traded my Holy Grail to Canon (it's not obsolete though, it has a fantastic hall 'verb - just that the spring isn't nearly as good as the FRV1) the moment I read the reviews of that pedal on the surfguitar101 forum. A few people got a bit cork sniffy, and said that it couldn't hold a candle to a modded reissue tank, but others said that, (a) it sounds almost exactly like the pre-modded current reissue, (b) it beats hell out of any other spring reverb simulator on the market, and (c) it's a heck of a lot cheaper than a reverb tank - so if it gets you 95% of the way there...

They had them at that price in Plumstead last two times I was there (about two months ago and two weeks ago). All the "Fender" pedals were at that price, but the Bassman and Deluxe pedals were sold out last time. Maybe just phone and check...

Musicman JP-7 Ball Family Reserve into various amps and combination of amps including a Bogner Extacy, Randall Lynch Box, Mesa Boogie Mark IV, Vox AC30 and multiple effects. And just to top it a Roland Fantom G-8. Those things are just phenomenal.

Idno all the ibanez is bad enough tone wise....... to ad a GT5 or 6 or 7 would pretty much be useless, Might as well put a rubber band on a stick and kick it.
