Jeez Arjun -great stuff as always, personally I would add a little more delay/reverb to the guitar so that it slips a little back in the mix and maybe up the direct volume through the OD/DS a bit but that's my personal taste. BTW where did you get the back track from? If you tell me you wrote it yourself I am going to bury myself in the sand, head first.
Lol ? Thanks Rene (for excusing the bum note). No, i didn't write the backtrack. I downloaded it a long time ago because i was looking for something to jam to.
The strange thing was that i only got around to it yesterday afternoon. I played along to it twice without plugging the electric in (i.e. acoustically), and in the evening i decided to see what the GT10 could do in a recording situation.
You're right about the delay..i did want the delay on, but for some strange reason (believe me, i tried..i had the time set at around 620 ms, FB @ about 5 and level at about 40 -42) i couldn't hear the delay regardless of the settings on the patch. As for the gain, the patch i created was using a preamp and being the recording noob that i am, i wasn't prepared for the difference in output between the amp and the computer (i did change the output to line/phones). The tonal difference could also be because i was trying to create a patch that would be compatible with my 6 string as well as my 7 string. I need to sit and create a separate bunch of patches for my 7 string and also maybe one set of patches set up for recording with.
Speaking of which, i've been meaning to give you a call sometime to pick your brains on patch settings etc.
Andrew Bryson was kind enough to give me a few tips on recording and also regarding i could do to make this clip sound better.
I'm thinking of doubling up the solo, but clean instead of driven.
Once again, thanks for listening and for the feedback.
