TJs open mic night 25 March 2010

Hello all As I am sure that no one on this forum can fathom how bad I am with directions, I thought I'd ask for some to TJs tomorrow. I am coming from Pta. It seems the event is in a different venue every time? Kind regards Conrad Pienaar

Next open mic night at TJs will be last Thursday of April. Bring those guitars!

Next "regular" TJs is April 15th.

Yeah it was great meeting Bob, Lethe, Keira. Lawrence & Fingerpicker. Nice atmosphere and very supportive people.

His and Letitia's guitars are the business.

I didn't ask about the tightness of his underwear. That would have been very rude.

That lime and coconut song has been playing in my head the whole morning and I also now say "Damn your eyes"! At every opportunity.

yeah i could only stay to see conrad and letitia do their flamenco thing, as i had to attend a cd launch last night ........ but it was worth the short stop cos i loved it, and mostly enjoyed the fact that they doing "original compositions" which are sounding well structured and cleverly crafted......... the originality really scores big points from my perspective...... so yeah true artists ...... and yes they are working on a cd ...so very promising ...as i mention every now and again the acoustic scene in jhb is truly growing and the standard of talent and creativity and most importantly originality is very high in the acoustic scene and growing ........

well done to conrad and letitia...

and good to meet lawrence for 1st time....

@Lethe & Bob: I nearly ruptured my pancreas laughing at that "dragging the river for you" song.

I'm very interested in your right hand rhythm technique. It was very interesting for me to be able to watch flamenco players at close quarters.

It's rasgueados mixed with percussion but it's all quite logical and I can show you all that on the 11th. I am learning the more traditional techniques now. My right arm was a bit fatigued halfway through the 2nd piece. We played it a little too fast so the rasgueados were not executed well.
