My Historic Les Pauls

thought I'd share these with you......

a 2007 R8 VOS ......very woody sound, thick 50's neck profile .....Honduras mahogany

a 1987 R7 Goldtop.......very nice guitar with Shaw classic pups

a '95 R7 with classic HB's...sweet sweet sound

a 2006 R9 with a beautiful subtle flame, Tobacco burst, nice '59 neck profile...very resonant, light weight, Honduras mahogany and dark rosewood fretboard. This is the rare dark-back example.

Those are some freakin' beauties and no mistake. What absolute stunners Vic. If I was creeping around your house in the dark and I could only manage one guitar while escaping the hail of bullets and the rottweilers, I'd grab that R8. That's just gorgeous.

Honduras Mahogany eh? Well, well, well... How do you get anything done with those guitars around? The temptation to pick one up and play at any moment must be near overwhelming ?

Hard to say Alan...each has its own character. The R9 is very resonant with tremendous sustain (almost too much...difficult to keep her quiet ? ) The R8 has a great thick vintage sound while the R7 is somewhere in between. I have used the R8 on occasional gigs

Would be a nice to have....I like the new '52/53 with the redesigned trapeze bridge . One should also look at the R6....I hear those P90's are awesome.

Wow, Mr Vic, you are better motivation to work hard and become successful than a thousand self help books! Who moved my Cheese? More like - How can I get that Gibson. ? That first LP.... and the AC 30's...:-oThe prospect of such nice toys one day almost makes the 12 hour workdays bearable...:-S

Why so formal...? ? Chris you'll get there, and it's not all hard work....PS: I have a small collection...there are guys (on this Forum) with a lot more stuff...then there are guys in the UK who own 200+ Vox vintage products, and guys in the US and Japan who have 10+ vintage sunburst Les Pauls.. ?

The secret is to wheel and deal ? a Collection should never be static....you sell,you search, you buy...trying to raise the quality each time.
