Sing sing

Well, it says post here first so I will... I'm a journalist by profession. I like to sing. A lot. I like to write songs too. I listen to everything from folk to rock to Mexicali hip hop. When I was younger I liked Edie Brickell. Now I'm more into Jay Farrar. I'm inspired by Son Volt. I also really like Calexico, 16 Horsepower, Leonard Cohen. Pretty much anything except Celine Dion and Nickelback. I've been playing acoustic guitar since I was a teen, but I've never really got beyond writing songs on guitar (I'm not a lead guitarist!). Just bought my first electric guitar, and am now learning how to navigate the knobs and levers that come with being plugged in.

I am not either but I want to write songs. Got this little Boss recording tool and recorded one or two of my songs with me singing. I have not opened my mouth since I listened to them.
