guitar tutorial videos for rental.

i was watching a an interview with a guitarist a little while ago where he mentioned that the way he learned guitar was by renting guitar tutorial video's from a video store that was close to him then he'd watch it take in as much as he could for the evening then reurn it and rent a different one.

i know that there is no chance that a video store here is gnna start purchasing tutorial dvd's cause the market is pretty small, and the dvd's have a pretty heavy price tag if you have to buy them new.
so it got me thinking.... how possible do you think it will be to get a music shop to use one of their copies to rent out to their clients?

you think its worth going to talk to em to make the suggestion, and which shops do you think are open minded enough to start doing this?

Great idea !!! The fact that some of these DVD's do not have enough protection to prevent ripping might but the stores off.

One thing to keep in mind is that a DVD you see for sale in a store and a DVD you can rent has two price tags.
A shop pay way more for a DVD that is allowed to be rented out.

In a nutshell I like your idea!

Yeah, like inflames said, you godda pay more and the you have to buy legal rights to rent copies out. Then you also have to make sure people bring them back and don't disappear with them. Reality is, most music stores won't see the benefit to it. It won't bring in enough money to make it a worthwhile endeavor, as they will probably lose quite a bit of money on it.

Another great resource is Youtube. The trick is to filter the junk and just look at the good ones. A good place to start will be justin sandercoe's website. He has a lot of tutorials, laid out as series that follow one another. You can get them from youtube with some select Firefox plugins.

Haha. My all time favourite guitarist. I actually ordered his DVD about 2 weeks ago. Paid R400 total and got it about 8 working days after I ordered (this was the cheapest shipping option). And it's well worth the wait
