Guitar Issues, frets worn, pickup switch crackly.

I've got a Squier Strat, some of the frets are quite worn, but I don't think enough to warrant a complete refret (it's costly afaik). Is there somewhere/someone that can do a partial refret or crowning (that's sanding down the frets right?) Otherwise how easy would it be to find a whole new neck?

I realise that someone probably needs to actually look at it, but what sort of cost would I be looking at?

Other thing is that when flipping the switch for the pickups, the sound is crackly and sometimes goes dead, then it needs to be wiggled slightly to work again. (Thing was always like this from when I got it.) I once opened it up to check for loose connections but couldn't see anything obvious, so I guess the actual switch is faulty. Can you buy these easy enough?

I need somewhere around JHB northern suburbs ideally, but I can travel a bit further afield to go somewhere good.

Your switch needs replacing - the plastic Asian jobs rarely last more than a year or two.

Your frets need fret dressing. Price usually depends on how big a job it is (and I can't tell you how much someone else will charge), but if you call and ask them for a ballpark for a fret dress, they can give you an idea.

Another option is to take the guitar to Mando Silva at Music Connection.

In either case you will be in for the quote price PLUS a set of new strings (essential for a good setup).

Both stores will be able to supply and, if necessary, install a new switch.
