@ Keira do you always tune down 1/2 step and then use a capo on the first fret?
@ Squonk
yes i do on that guitar ...it has a tradition long scale 658mm where many other classicals have only 650 mm scale ... gives the guitar a really deep full and rich tone...... but the main reason is that by tuning down a step i get the tension of strings reduced....... i would play exclusively with "low tension" classical strings if only i could source some locally but thats not happenning and i looked .... (btw classical strings come in tensions ( low /standard/high) not gauges.... but much same idea ...... many classical players favour high tension but i prefer the other side of scale ... ) however i keep my other guitars tuned to concert pitch ....... so i'm comfortable either way

i been blessed with jazz singers in jhb since i arrived back .... the previous singer who alicia replaced was the magnificent "soul" singer Auriol hays from the "auriol Hays project" who is also signed to a label and doing pop/soul , she's living in cape town right now..... so if you in ct go check out the auriol hays project ....she's awesome or hear her songs on the radio charts........ about 3 of her songs have been charting
