Lakewood Guitars - anyone played one or have any info?

Saw a few Lakewoods yesterday while guitar shop prowling ?

Has anyone played any or can comment on the guitars? Looking at possibly a dreadnought vs a Larrivee.

There's a couple at McGibbon's that I've played - One iis an OM or Grand Auditorium size, the other is sort of like a big OM.

Pretty nice guitars. Play well, good sound. Construction looks good. I think the Larrivees may offer a little better value for money, but there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the Lakewoods.

Sounds competent but not spectacular Bob ☹

DIdn't think to play the Lakewoods when I visited Andy's on Saturday but I absolutely fell in love with the "Jellybean" (Larrivee SD-50TSB) - Man, what a sweet guitar!!

That's a pretty cool guitar - but did you look at the price tag?

Well I don't know the exact price, but it's in excess of 40 grand.

Still a bargain compared to the 80 grand Breedlove Phoenix in the shop just up the road.

Both prices obviously BEFORE discount.

Yip that's about right Bob, but with discount it is a little under that. Out of my current price range but It really is sweeeeeeet !! ?

I thought that Jumbo was a pretty interesting guitar.
