Hands down, for the money, this is unbeatable:

I got rid of my Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail because I want one of these guys bad. I read through all the reviews on the surfguitar101 forum. Let's just say that surf guitarists are
very serious about their reverb. It takes a lot to drag the modded, tube-powered vintage Fender reverb tanks out of their hands. But they grudgingly admitted that although this doesn't sound
quite like a modded vintage tank, it sounds a heck of a lot like the modern reissue tank - more so than any other digital pedal.
There is a Lanneleigh pedal with a decent length spring in it that's apparently great - if you can even find a place that sells it, and will ship internationally, it costs a lot of money. Then there are kit reverb tank clones. But a reverb tank is bulky, costs as much as an amp, and takes a lot of maintenance. This gets you 95% of the way there for $150 in an almost indestructible, super compact boss pedal.
I wants one, and I'm gonna gets one.
Oh. Please don't confuse this with the black Boss/Fender Deluxe Reverb Pedal. That is not a reverb pedal, but a pedal that simulates the Deluxe Reverb
amp. The reverb on it is apparently its most disappointing feature - full of random pops and tinniness. Since that pedal has been around for a little while, these pop up on gumtree. The FRV-1 (above) '63 Spring Reverb pedal, on the other hand, is brand-spanking new, and you won't find them second hand at this point.
