Sadly Jimi and Janis never played together. The immortal introduction and solo to Summertime was played by
Big Brother & The Holding Company's own James Gurley. You can find Jimi doing a killer instrumental version of "Sunshine of Your Love" Live at Montreaux which is in itself is strange because Jack Bruce of the Cream wrote the riff one night after watching Hendrix perform - now hows that for complete trivia ?

I think he's too often overlooked because during the Stone's most succesful commercial period he mostly played rhythm guitar whilst Mick Taylor took the solos, but Keith was (was) a great player and laid down some great parts.
