Some interesting features...

The two bars running along the bass side are tone bars, made of wood, and are interchangeable to modify tone
Pickups are movable and interchangeable - Teuffel provide a range of single coils and a range of humbuckers
The controls are mounted in a unit that is in turn mounted on a locking pivot. So you can adjust the position of the controls

For a Birdfish you're in for 9000 euros. This includes a 2nd set of tone bars, 5 pickups that you can mix and match, and a set of tools.

I would love to own one, the only reason I don't is the price. The interesting thing is they've been around for years and years. If I remember correctly, I first ogled them in a Guitar World Buyers Guide sometime in the 90s, before such things as printed buyers guides were completely outmoded by a quick Google search. (I hope my memory is serving me correctly here... ??? )

I wonder how confortable it would be to play, with the shape, layout etc. I agree, it sure looks cool, but for 9000 euros I'd rather go for 50's wood and know I won't make a colossal loss if I ever sell the thing.
